The big city was as expected, I've seen busier. But definitely notice the crazy driving, people just walk around cars moving really fast, and cars move around people moving really fast. Lot of cool sites, and a really happening night life. I met up with a friend who I met 5 years ago for 3 days in a hostel in Japan. But he showed me a great time! I met up with his DJ friends and went to this bar/club called shelter, https://www.google.ca/search?q=shelter+shanghai&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=YLGwUdeoIYeMyAH8iIAo&ved=0CEMQsAQ&biw=1276&bih=670
I had also coordinated to meet up with my other friends I met in HongKong who were lawyers in Sai pan. They were at shelter too so we had a gay ol' time! After went to another place called muse, insanely packed. Also one of the foreigner guys who lives in shanghai pointed out models area, where white models were in a corner together, but didn't seem to be attracting much interest.
I unfortunately got sick the next day and just slept all day, wasn't sure what it was.
Finally I got TEA CEREMONY SCAMMED, fuuuck! If you google this, you'll read how three college people (typically girls) will approach you and act all excited to meet a foreigner. They'll invite you to a tea ceremony and the bill comes and is super high. I actually enjoyed the session - but it was like 50 US bucks, this session is usually free. After I left I actually felt good, I had a cool experience... but then talking with people from the hostel after I was clearly scammed... and felt like going back to slit throats :)
In my hostel a bunch of us sat down going over how we got scammed, one guy paid like 200 US bucks for a drink! I have their picture on my camera and will post it later. This left a really bitter taste in my mouth about Shanghai/China. But then again, we have tons of scumbags in downtown Toronto... maybe just not as sneaky.
