Beijing

Beijing was fun, very rushed though. I went to the forbidden city, which is this HUGE ancient city where emperors would live, I can't get over this, its so massive and incredible. I also saw an acrobactics show which was great! Me and this Israeli solider from the hostel went, he was a bomb disarming specialist! After we went to dinner then a night on the town. Everyone in the bar area kept offering us "sexy massages", it was out of control! I remember I would turn to my Israeli friend and say "damn, I just wonder where I could get a sexy massage around here" and would instantly be surrounded by like 6 people whispering "sexy massage?" and a very dirty tone, hahah.

We went to this club called Latte, it was packed! Everyone had bottles/tables, we were the only white people. There was a performance with this star wars type lasers and some rapper, all very entertaining!

Shanghai

The big city was as expected, I've seen busier. But definitely notice the crazy driving, people just walk around cars moving really fast, and cars move around people moving really fast. Lot of cool sites, and a really happening night life. I met up with a friend who I met 5 years ago for 3 days in a hostel in Japan. But he showed me a great time! I met up with his DJ friends and went to this bar/club called shelter,  https://www.google.ca/search?q=shelter+shanghai&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=YLGwUdeoIYeMyAH8iIAo&ved=0CEMQsAQ&biw=1276&bih=670

I had also coordinated to meet up with my other friends I met in HongKong who were lawyers in Sai pan. They were at shelter too so we had a gay ol' time! After went to another place called muse, insanely packed. Also one of the foreigner guys who lives in shanghai pointed out models area, where white models were in a corner together, but didn't seem to be attracting much interest.

I unfortunately got sick the next day and just slept all day, wasn't sure what it was.

Finally I got TEA CEREMONY SCAMMED, fuuuck! If you google this, you'll read how three college people (typically girls) will approach you and act all excited to meet a foreigner. They'll invite you to a tea ceremony and the bill comes and is super high. I actually enjoyed the session - but it was like 50 US bucks, this session is usually free. After I left I actually felt good, I had a cool experience... but then talking with people from the hostel after I was clearly scammed... and felt like going back to slit throats :)

In my hostel a bunch of us sat down going over how we got scammed, one guy paid like 200 US bucks for a drink! I have their picture on my camera and will post it later. This left a really bitter taste in my mouth about Shanghai/China. But then again, we have tons of scumbags in downtown Toronto... maybe just not as sneaky.

Shenzhen

This are a little late, stupid mainland doesn't let you access it without proxy, also can't get facebook.

So from HongKong I went to the mainland for a night. I went to Shenzhen, which is rapidly expanding city. I had no idea, famous for a variety of things but most famously there shopping area, it was so intense, I was overwhelmed I didn't even know what to buy. I went that night, unfortunately my hostel was all chinese speaking so I had to go solo. I quickly met other foreigners at this bar called pepper lounge, and ended up meeting 4 locals who were part of my posse. It was cute they were all trying to win my attention. Late night we ended up going to this place for food which was awesome, although it was cheap they insisted on paying. I still get emails from one of them lol

Ladies night and Macau

Captains Blog:

Went to this club that had much hype - Beijing club, I thought it was amazing, great music very friendly people, girls were dressed to impress! Every Asian country I've been to, I find the dancing quite awkward, but most of the girls here had some moves! I went out with German Stephan and this girl Sam from Australia, Stephan was paranoid that all the girls were hired... that's what he blames his lack of game on. This one girls name was rainbow, I literally asked her about 10 times what her name was, I just couldn't believe it. I ended up having noodles with this guy Jeremy who claimed he owned many bars/clubs, he had a bit of the sketchy nature one would expect. We were also with his female groupies. He told me next time I want to "play" in Hong Kong I need to call him. Lots of people use that word play for going out and having fun, I think its rather creepy.

My sleep schedule is still messed, I was tempted to nap during the day today, but I can't do that... I knew what I needed to do.. Macau.

The disgusting casino air perked me right up. Its very extravagant, I checked out Galaxy and Venetian (to compare to Vegas), similar stuff, but obviously EVERYONE is Asian. I sat down at poker about 4-8 limits in USD. Most sat down with 2000 US, quite out of my budget, obviously I sat down with much less but wanted to check it off my list. I was up about 200 US then left, way too smoky. Was exactly what i wanted, the guy next to me was giving me a bit of the low down on Macau, how it pulls in so much more, completely independent on foreigners helping out, and how not everyone is allowed to come from Mainland (this seemed more conspiracy will need to look into it) . Everyone had top top name brand stuff purses looked legit.

I'm super tired, got a foot massage and passed out for most of it, I hope she was still rubbing, my feet do feel softer. Tomorrow I'm going to Shenzhen. My one regret is not eating more stuff, but with my sleep off my stomach has not been top notch also.

ohh well

Fook lam Moon and Ozone

Ate at this ballin place tonight, Fook Lam Moon, pretty famous - and super costly. I tried some frog's legs and birds nest (which is apparently the most expensive food consumed by humans). Sadly this was kinda a flop, it was too much food and too rich.  I was expecting smaller portion, and the bastards should have warned me. Went to "ladies market"after, which is not a prostitution rink but where they have tons of fake everything. I bought a dress shirt for about 7 Canadian bucks, which was half of their original price which seems about the standard. The quality of the shirt is super low, I could rip the sleeves off if I tried... which I might.  Ended up after checking out ozone with another hostel-er, Stefan the German. Ozone is the highest bar in the world, a bit of a quiet night but still fun, cool atmosphere full of old Chinese guys with hot young Asian women.

First night out - huge success!

Had a big group for dinner and then had about 5 of us out on the town. Things got silly quickly. People were buying so many rounds of shots, no complaints. There were so many characters on the street! Like troll guy... a guy that looks like a troll and doesn't speak English, or much of anything. I paid a fake monk to bless this girl, he appeared to try and grab a boob, though she didn't pick up on that, my camera did.. This got out of control when this one drunk guy from the states grabbed this short old man security guard's ass, wtf! He flipped out in the elevator and we didn't know why, then appeared to grab some weapon and we ran!

gotta go

In HK, whaddup

Flight was a long arduous journey. Saw The Campaign with Will Farrel, which was amazing and made the whole flight. I met some fellow Canadians on the flight who were able to guide me most of the way. Got to my hostel no problem, its clean, YES! It's in Causaway bay, very happening place, though feels repetitive with cosmetics, jewellery, women's clothings, meh. Met some people to go out with for food and such, one guy seems quite fluent in Cantonese which could be quite useful... but is also quite awkward.

More updates to come stay tuned,

I think I'm gonna start with captains blog... as I have an uncanny resemblance to Chris Pine.. and plan to exploit it for its fullest here.
